Ame Hernandez

Gallery I showcases Paseo Arts Association and Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition member Ame Hernandez. An American abstract artist and interior designer who has been published in House & Garden, The World of Interior and GQ Magazine, primarily works with mixed media to create unique designs and textures. Her exhibit, Textile Reverie, is a walk-through experience where textiles and design come to life through the medium of paint. As Hernandez states herself, “I create based on my mood. I don’t like doing the same thing over and over. I enjoy keeping people on their toes in regard to my work.”

Kendall Ross

Gallery II displays Girl Talk by the ever-popular Oklahoma City fiber artist Kendall Ross. Ross gravitated toward traditional feminine crafts, such as hand knitting, throughout her childhood by learning crochet from her grandmother. Her work celebrates femininity through female-dominated crafts and subject material. Ross hand knits, embroiders and beads wearable pieces to tell the story of what it feels and looks like to be a young woman in a way that approaches the subjects as important and necessary topics in art. Combining traditional feminine crafts, women’s history and her personal experience as a young woman inspires her work that is unapologetically feminine. Girl Talk highlights the seemingly insignificant conversations between Kendall and her friends, family, partners about relationships, loneliness and work as a 22-year-old woman.
